as the sunrise says,
we are that darkness
that ends each day
we'll laugh till the sunset.
I remember once you said,
every rainy day hold a funeral
and charms it on a bed
with a bitter aftertaste
and as I recall I watched
as your body was set to fade
I was dreamer by a window
admiring the rain's soft serenade
as the sunset says,
we are the great light
that begins at dawn
we pray at the foot of our ruin....
part II
do you sometimes feel the waste
of a stale winter evening
do you recall the taste
of the end's bitter affection?
do you hold her in your arms
as clouds hold a tearing sky
no comfort is in bitterness
tears fall from bitter eyes
so sip to your own affliction
and make ready your escape
every day holds absence
without color, size and shape
as in the busy market place
there is a loneliness there
there is a regret on every face
and a stillness in the air...
